Top commercial real estate conferences and events to attend in 2021

Networking, prospecting, and nurturing relationships are all essential to a broker’s success in the commercial real estate industry. And as many CRE professionals know, conferences and events are some of the best opportunities to build your network while also learning about industry trends.

Many CRE conferences and events have been postponed or cancelled this year, but there are still quite a few virtual opportunities—and even some in-person events as well. While this is not an exhaustive list of all the great CRE conferences out there, here are some of the top events happening in 2021.

2021 CRE conferences and events

ICSC RECon Digital

Date: May 25–26 
Location: Virtual

ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers) hosts large regional conferences that provide networking opportunities and educational sessions for commercial real estate professionals and brokers specializing in retail. And while the annual spring conference is typically held in Las Vegas, it will be virtual this year.

RECon Digital 2021 is the only virtual global gathering for retail and real estate professionals to get exclusive insights from top retail innovators and influencers, learn how leaders are addressing current industry issues and challenges, find business partners, and grow their network.

CRE Finance Council Annual Conference

Date: June 16–17 
Location:
Virtual

Every year, the CRE Finance Council hosts two annual conferences—the January conference in Miami and the June conference in New York—that cover a broad range of commercial real estate challenges, trends, and topics. 

While details on sessions and topics have not yet been determined, the 2021 CRE Finance Council Annual Conference will be held virtually this year and the content will be driven by its members (who will receive complimentary registration for all virtual conferences this year).

CORFAC 2021 Fall Summit

Date: September 22–25 
Location:
Chicago, Illinois

CORFAC International is a global network of independently owned commercial real estate firms—and their commercial real estate conferences offer four days of networking and educational opportunities for industry brokers.

While details on sessions and topics have not yet been determined, the CORFAC 2021 Fall Summit will be held in Chicago, Illinois this year and past conference sessions have centered around deal making, advice on the latest tech resources, and informative talks from big names in the industry.

NAIOP CRE.Converge

Date: September 26–29 
Location:
Miami Beach, Florida

NAIOP is a leading organization for developers, owners and investors of office, industrial, retail, and mixed-use real estate—hosting several commercial real estate events yearly.  

The CRE.Converge 2021 conference will cover all aspects of commercial real estate and bring brokers and other CRE professionals together for networking, educational sessions, and to learn about trends and technologies in the industry—all while enjoying the Miami Beach.

2021 CREW Network Convention

Date: September 28–30 
Location:
Virtual or Las Vegas, Nevada

With over 12,000 members worldwide, CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) Network is a premier networking organization for women working in the commercial real estate industry. And every year, CREW hosts an annual convention to bring together commercial real estate leaders from across the globe. 

The 2021 CREW Network Convention will be a hybrid event—with the opportunity to join in person at The Mirage in Las Vegas or virtually via their digital convention platform. Either way, brokers and CRE professionals can expand their business network and learn about the latest trends and innovative projects in the industry.

BOMA 2021 International Conference & Expo

Date: October 6–9 
Location:
Boston, Massachusetts 

As the leading trade association for commercial real estate professionals for more than 100 years, BOMA (Building Owners and Managers Association) organizes an annual conference that top brokers don’t miss.

This year, BOMA 2021 International Conference & Expo will provide a fun and engaging conference experience that will be in person and will include engaging workshops and sessions about innovative technologies, high-performance buildings, and more.

SIOR CREate 360

Date: October 14–16 
Location:
Nashville, Tennessee

SIOR (Society of Industrial and Office Realtors) hosts two annual conferences that connect top brokers, agents, and commercial real estate professionals for three days of networking, learning, and opportunity.

The 2021 SIOR CREate 360 conference in Nashville will offer a high-level view of the industrial and office commercial real estate landscape—and the event will feature high-profile speakers and strategic discussion.

2021 REALTORS® Conference & Expo

Date: November 12–15 
Location:
San Diego, California

The National Association of Realtors is an American trade association for professionals working in the real estate industry—and the organization hosts an annual conference and expo that is great for both new agents and experienced brokers.

The 2021 REALTORS® Conference & Expo will provide unique opportunities for brokers and CRE professionals to take part in educational sessions, explore products and services that will improve business efficiencies, and network with industry professionals—with both in-person and virtual passes available.

CREtech Events

CREtech is a leading source for all things technology in the commercial real estate space. And since they launched their event’s two-city series in 2017, they have expanded into numerous cities and states across the country.
