For the seventh year in a row, we’re partnering with theBrokerList to conduct the largest, most comprehensive survey in the corporate real estate industry — and we’d like you to take part.

What is the DNA of #CRE?

The DNA of #CRE is an annual survey completed by several hundred commercial brokers and marketers across the industry. It’s designed to glean insights about deal cycles, best practices, resources, marketing strategies, and specific tactics brokers use to drive success.

We start by gathering data on demographics before diving into questions about how CRE pros market their listings, which efforts and tools are most effective, and which resources brokers use to fill their pipeline and expand their market expertise.

Once we’ve closed the survey, we’ll analyze the results and compile them into an easy-to-read infographic that you can use for insight, inspiration, and to help set your own benchmarks in the year ahead.

Why should I participate?

As an experienced CRE pro, you have valuable knowledge and wisdom to share. Including voices like yours helps ensure we’re amassing a diverse perspective and providing a wide-angle view of the entire industry.

Each year, we publish a report chock-full of information about how the industry has evolved over time, how much money your peers are earning, which tools brokers use most, average listing prices, deal cycle length, and more. The larger the number of participants, the more comprehensive the results.

Of course, because we value your privacy, we’ll only publish data anonymously.

  • Over 41% of CRE pros said referrals from past buyers and clients was the most effective prospecting method
  • More than half of respondents said the price of their average listing exceeded $1M
  • Attending webinars was the No. 1 self-improvement pursuit among CRE pros in 2021
  • Nearly 95% of brokers said relationship-building would be their top stimulus for winning business in 2021
  • 50% of CRE pros said regular phone calls are the most effective method for building relationships
